SLA Monitoring and Reporting

SLA contracts define the agreed service quality level of services. The open source umbrella management system openITCOCKPIT will not only monitor performance indicators, it will also display them in an intuitive graphical front-end, making it easy to identify breaches of contract resulting from slow response times.

Through its Monitoring View, openITCOCKPIT will also show an overview of existing contracts. Areas with contract breaches are shown in real-time.

Through SLA Reporting, openITCOCKPIT offers the possibility to zoom into SLA contracts quickly and intuitively for easy identification of the host systems, services and service rules involved in breaches of contract.

The first step would be to display all hosts involved in a system failure, as shown in the figure.

In case of a breach of contract, deeper analysis will provide insight into what services on those hosts caused the problem.

Since SLA Reporting is based on accumulated performance data, it is possible to zoom even further into the problematic area in order to display individual performance values.
